How the conversation about George Floyd happened in Twitter?
I will analyse its trend, social network analysis, top influencers, emotion analysis, bot analysis, hashtags, and narratives.
VOLUME AND TREND
Keyword for this analysis: "George Floyd" only. Data collection from Twitter stream was started on the 30th of May. We got more than 300k mentions a day only for this keyword. Total collected conversation 729k mentions.
EMOTION TREND
Using Plutchik's emotion wheel, we got interesting emotion trend from 28 May - 1 June. In the beginning people are angry for the death of GF. Many expressed happiness and support for the peaceful protests. These happened until 30th of May. Then...
Then the protests became violent and anarchist. Many people including those who initially supporting the protests, expressed their sadness for the turn, on the 31st May. And on the 1st June, there distrust toward the violent protests were in the name of #GeorgeFloyd, and ..
and many people believe that Russia military intelligence is behind the police officer, to choke #GeorgeFloyd.
Emotion analysis from the 28 May - 1 June conversation data shows the four main emotions: 1. Trust 2. Sadness 3. Anger 4. Joy Looked at the trend, the emotions were started from Anger (for the death), Joy ( for the peaceful protests), Sadness (for the riots), and dis-Trust.
